Honing in on Homelessness With Rex Hohlbein and Tim Harris

Date:
Tuesday, May 12th, 2015 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm
Location:
Husky Union Building - South Ballroom | 4001 Stevens Way NE | Seattle, WA 98195

Homelessness is on the rise in Seattle, with the 2015 One Night Count revealing a 21 percent increase in people sleeping outdoors since 2014. Seattle is the fastest-growing city in the nation, and the challenges of housing affordability are driving up the number of people who experience homelessness.

Rex Hohlbein, former architect, and founder of Facing Homelessness, and Tim Harris, newspaper man, activist, and the founder of Real Change News, are coming together to discuss the direct engagement of the public and homeless people themselves in being part of the solution while individuals, communities, and institutions flexibly support survival strategies.

Snacks and mingling begin at 5pm, and the event starts at 5:30. Learn more on the event’s Facebook page. This event is hosted by Tent City Collective.
